Tiara

Floral Cascade Tiara - designed to be worn slightly forward on the head with the strands falling on the side of the face if wished.

This is an example of one of my side tiaras - this has been popular with brides and also girls going to prom. The basic design has been altered to colourmatch gowns etc.

The basic technique is wire working:

Components needed:

1 silver plated tiara band

0.6 mm silver plated wire
silver plated craft wire
Swarovski Crystal clear bicones 5 mm

Technique

Take the 0.6 mm wire and decide on the size of each petal.
Create petals by curving to shape and then bending back on itself
To finish create a loop on one end of wire and feed other end through

Using craft wire bind the petals in the centre to create a flower

Wire wrap crystals across each petal and secure by winding round twice to secure and prevent wire slipping - a random design can be created and you can build as many crystals as you wish.

To make the 'cascade' take a length of 0.6 mm wire and create a small loop at one end
Using pliers flatten this.

Feed on one crystal at a time and using pliers create a 90 degree 'bend'
This creates a zig zag effect.

Repeat for second cascade - more can be added if required

Then secure flower to headband using craft wire
secure cascades by winding 0.5 mm wire on headband.

Finish by winding craft wire to finish all rough edges and ensure comfort for wearer
