Hair Accessories for Brides & Bridesmaids

Selecting your hair accessories for your special day is an important final touch that will bring your entire look together. There are a few items to consider when selecting your hair accessories.

The first item to think about is the dress. Does your beautiful gown have any beading on it at all? Are there pearls, crystals, or rhinestones? If your gown does have embellishments on it, then use that as a starting point for your hair accessories. If you have pearls or crystals or both, select hair accessories that have those same pearls and crystals, as well as in the same color palette.

The second item to consider is what type of girl are you. Are you a tiara girl? Do you prefer something a little less understated, but still want that elegant and sparkly addition? Although tiaras are a traditional choice for many brides, not everyone feels totally comfortable in them. If you are that girl, a different hair accessory is the way to go. There are many other options which include hair combs, hair vines, hair pins and head bands.

Taking a simple single pearl or single crystal hairpin and adding about 6 – 8 of them to an up do adds a great splash of color and sparkle that looks great and is not overdone. Hair combs are a great choice for the side of a partial up do, to place on the inside seam of a French twist or on top of a chignon. A hair vine is a nice option to wrap around the side of the hair or work into a bun.

There are many hair jewelry accessory options for brides. If you are not to sure about a tiara, you now know that are multiple ways to add that fancy sparkle to your hair to finish off your look and coordinate your colors.

Adding a Bracelet for a great Final Bridal Touch

Accessorizing your look for your wedding day is one of the fun parts of planning a wedding. During this process you choose wedding jewelry that matches your gorgeous gown and coordinates your entire look together. A bracelet is the perfect way to add an extra splash of color to the wrist.

The best part about selecting your bridal bracelet is that you can choose any style. With necklaces you need to consider the style of your gown and the neckline, so you necklace will match perfectly. With a bracelet, there is no matching up except for color and size. You can place a bracelet on a bare wrist or over wedding gloves, either way, it adds a romantic and final look to your outfit.

When choosing your bracelet you need to consider the embellishments your gown has. Are there crystals, rhinestones, pearls or sequins on your gown? Is your gown white, ivory, champagne? Does it have a colorful sash or embroidery detail? These are all items to consider when selecting your bridal bracelet. Choose like materials for all of your jewelry. If your gown has pearls and crystals, then choose a bridal bracelet that has pearls and crystals.

There are a variety of styles and beads available today. You can choose anywhere from a simple single strand bracelet to a cuff style bracelet. There are great chunky styles and very glamorous looks this season. Whatever style you choose, coordinate your colors with your bracelet for the perfect coordinated look.

Many brides pack up all of their accessories with their gowns after the wedding day. With your bridal jewelry, you don’t have to do that. Wear your bridal jewelry for other special occasions like anniversaries, vacations and fancy events. This is the perfect way to keep your wedding memories alive and utilize a great piece you’ve already invested in.

This is also a fun project for a beginner where you will learn the R.A.W as well as wrapped loop.

Included in this tutorial is a few trick for you to make that nice wrapped loop. I can't say that it's the perfect wrapped loop but if you have the issue with the wrapped stem not positioned at the centre of the loop nagging at the back of your mind, I'll show you the trick to achieve just that.

  • (2) Swarovski crystal heart pendant (or any top drilled beads which you think you'll like the look of it as the angel wings)

TWR015 Band of Pearls Ring Tutorial

Learn how to make this seemingly cluttered pearls ring. Made using Swarovski crystal pearls, you can also substitute with any round bead. In the tutorial, I also suggested how you can do some substitution with bicone bead for a different results.

This ring is also a double row R.A.W ring but done differently from the beginner's tutorial on this subject. If you have tried the beginner's version, you'll be able to see for yourself the difference in the two but if you have not, you will still be able to follow this tutorial.

I'm showing you an alternative way to the previous technique and an interesting exploration for those interested in R.A.W.

    Tools & materials used:
    • (1) 10mm pearl/round bead
    • (2) 6mm pearl/round bead
    • (26) 3mm pearl/round bead
