Make your own ear wires

Want to make your own ear wires? You can, with your existing jewelry tools and a little imagination! Discover these quick and easy steps to create your own ear wires. You will need 20 gauge wires for this.

1) Cut wires to same size. Experiment with the length you like but keep it a little longer so that you can snip off the excess wire. I've used the handle of my flat nose plier to bend into shape of the ear wire.

2) That's how mine turned out - try to keep one side longer than the other.

3) Make a small loop at the longer end and a small bend on the other. Repeat the same steps on the other wire to make a pair. Do ensure they are of the same size.

4) Finally, use an ordinary metal base nail file on the end of the ear wire as you do not want to be hurt by the sharp ends. You can experiment with endless kinds of ear wire shapes!

I hope you will find this simple project fun and useful!
