Peyote Stitching Projects

There are many fine projects that can be done with peyote stitching. This form of beading is very versatile and can be used for many projects, including fine beaded jewelry.

Once you have picked out your colors and have all your beads and tools, you can free form a design or print out grids for making your own patterns that can be found here [1]: http://shala.addr.com/beads/resources/graphpaper/peyotegraph.gif .

There are many patterns you can find online that are already done that you can work with. For your first try, you want to decide if you want the project to wrap something (this is best for beginning bead-ers) or a flat design (for people who have beaded with seed beads before).

Creating a design around an object means you will need to decide on an object that has a constant shape (ie. A pencil, pen, lighter, or straw). The smaller the base form object the smaller the beaded project will be.

Starting with a larger object may be difficult at first and I suggest starting with a pencil or consistently width-ed pen.
