Some of you may have heard of the word “Picot” for the first time and some are already familiar with it, but just a little trivia, Picot is a French word pronounced as peko; meaning, to prick. In needlework, Picot is mostly used in tatting, crocheting, knitting and making bobbin lace. Picot is actually a loop of thread along the edges of a lace, crocheted, knitted or tatted materials that’s created for ornamental purposes.
As for jewelry making, Picot earrings are earrings shaped like a diamond with loops of small beads at the edges.
These types of jewelry making projects are so easy and fun to make that you could immediately finish several sets in just an hour. It’s a great jewelry making idea as a beginner project for those who are just starting to learn jewelry making. With not much materials needed, it’s also an inexpensive piece to finish.
Let’s get ready to start and prepare 10 x 5mm Swarvoski Pearls. You could also use regular beads, size 11 seed beads, 4 x 4mm jump rings, 2 x 2.5mm jump rings, 2 head pins, 2 x 4 inches nylon threads and 2 ear wires.
